Clinical situations require materials with different properties
Here you will find collagen, pericardium, magnesium, PTFE, and allograft membranes.
The desired barrier function largely depends on the indication. For minor augmentation procedures, membranes with an intermediate barrier function, such as the collprotect® membrane, are a good choice.
Space-maintaining membranes, such as PTFE membranes, provide extra stability when reconstructing defects outside the bony framework and also offer advantages when used in open healing applications.

Fixation of membranes
When using modern GBR and GTR techniques, barrier membranes are indispensable for achieving predictable and reliable results.
By fixing the barrier membrane to the local bone, both the application of the particulate bone regeneration material and the coverage of the augmentation area can be significantly simplified.
Using the integrated disposable applicator, titanium pins can be easily picked up from the dispenser and precisely placed at the fixation site. At the same time, deformation of the working end during handling is avoided.
