Koite Health, the company behind Lumoral®, is initiating a comprehensive research collaboration with Associated Brånemark Osseointegration Centers (ABOC) on the prevention and long-term maintenance of implant patients.

ABOC is an international network of accredited implant centers rooted in Professor Per-Ingvar Brånemark's pioneering work in osseointegration. The network possesses extensive clinical and scientific expertise, as well as a global research and educational environment.

Focus on implant health – even between clinic visits

Long-term implant results depend not only on surgical and prosthetic execution. The health of the tissue around the implant and continuous control of oral biofilm are crucial for long-term success.

This means that a large part of implant care takes place at home between professional follow-ups, where the patient's own effort is decisive.

This is precisely the area that the research collaboration focuses on. The purpose is to investigate and develop structured, preventive care pathways that combine professional clinic follow-up with the patient's daily self-care.

From professional treatment to structured home care

Lumoral® is a light-activated antibacterial home treatment that helps the patient effectively control oral biofilm in the periods between clinic visits.

The research collaboration will, among other things, investigate:

• How preventive care pathways are best structured around implant patients.

• How antibacterial home treatment can be included in ongoing maintenance.

• How professional follow-up and self-care can be combined most optimally.

• How knowledge and clinical documentation on prevention are built up and shared with clinicians.

The goal is to create a stronger clinical and scientific basis for preventive implant care.

ABOC – an international network with roots in modern implantology

Associated Brånemark Osseointegration Centers was founded in 1989 in Gothenburg by Professor Per-Ingvar Brånemark. Today, the network covers the entire spectrum of implant treatments – from single-tooth treatments to complex rehabilitations and maxillofacial reconstructions.

Through, among other things, Brånemark Academy, the network handles education, certification, and scientific development. It is this deep professional and clinical experience that is now combined with Koite Health's technology.
