Introduction and Instruction Treatment

To ensure optimal patient compliance and correct use, the process begins with thorough instruction. The patient gets the opportunity to experience the fit of the splint and its thermal effect, while also receiving guidance on the correct use of the photosensitizer Lumorinse®. The purpose is to create confidence in the treatment and establish a fixed home routine that supports the clinic's treatment goals.

Pre-operative optimization – e.g., before implant surgery

By using Lumoral® prior to surgical procedures, including implant placement, the bacterial load in the oral cavity is reduced. This can help reduce bacterial contamination of the surgical field and create good conditions for healing and successful osseointegration.

Pre-instrumentation – before depuration and periodontal treatment

Using Lumoral® immediately before dental scaling or periodontal treatment destabilizes the biofilm and facilitates the mechanical removal of plaque and calculus. This can help reduce the bacterial load during treatment and support good subsequent tissue healing.

Post-operative care and after tooth extraction

After tooth extraction or other surgical procedures, Lumoral® can be used to control bacterial levels during the healing phase without mechanically disturbing the healing tissue or the clot. The treatment can thus help maintain good bacterial control in the postoperative period and support a calm healing process.
