The BIO-HEAT setup is equipment for producing Albumin-PRF (Alb-PRF), in which the collected PRF plasma is heated in a controlled manner. The heating denatures the albumin proteins in the plasma, which changes the rate of degradation and gives a more slowly resorbing material compared with conventional PRF.
Alb-PRF produced with Bio-Heat is typically used for extended PRF membranes with a longer barrier function and for producing "biobone" (sticky bone) in bone augmentation, where a more stable binder is desired.
