We support the entire regenerative journey in implantology

At Puredent you will find one of the widest ranges of biomaterials on the market – from human donor bone and bovine bone mineral to synthetic granules, membranes and collagen for soft tissue and haemostasis.

We represent recognised manufacturers who not only deliver documented quality, but also support their use with cases, studies and guidance. The illustration shows how the materials work together in a typical bone regeneration – click through the layers.

  • Allografts, xenografts and synthetic bone substitutes
  • Resorbable and non-resorbable membranes – also in magnesium
  • Collagen for soft tissue, socket preservation and haemostasis
  • Same-day dispatch when ordering stock items before 12:00
Guided bone regeneration · cross-section of the jaw Schematic illustration – not to scale.
Schematic cross-section of the jaw with an implant in a bone defect between two neighbouring teeth, built up step by step: the patient’s bone, bone substitute, barrier membrane, fixation, soft tissue and the result after healing

Follow a typical bone regeneration step by step – from the defect to the healed result. You can also click directly on a layer in the illustration.

Socket & ridge preservation

Preserves the volume of the ridge after an extraction, so that the implant can later be placed optimally. Typically a bone substitute covered by a membrane – or a matrix to close the socket.

Bone substitute

  • cerabone® with added hyaluronic acid. Once hydrated, the granules become sticky and mouldable, making them easy to place and contour. The hyaluronic acid degrades within the first weeks – the mineral preserves volume.

  • 100 % pure bovine bone mineral, manufactured at 1200 °C. The mineral is practically insoluble and therefore preserves volume and contour in the long term.

  • Synthetic calcium phosphate – more than 90 % β-TCP and less than 10 % hydroxyapatite – in irregular granules of 250–1000 µm. Resorbs and is replaced by bone during natural remodelling.

  • Human donor bone from the C+TBA tissue bank in Austria, processed with the Allotec® process. The natural bone structure and the preserved collagen make the granules a scaffold that remodels into the patient’s own bone.

  • Mouldable block of 85 % phase-pure β-TCP granules and 15 % porcine collagen. Hydrated with blood, it can be adapted to the defect, while the collagen holds the granules in place.

  • Synthetic biphasic calcium phosphate (60 % hydroxyapatite, 40 % β-TCP). The β-TCP component remodels within 3–6 months, while the hydroxyapatite resorbs slowly and maintains volume.

  • maxgraft® granules with added sodium hyaluronate. Hydrated with saline or blood, it forms a cohesive ‘sticky bone’ that is easy to place and shape in the defect.

  • Phase-pure β-tricalcium phosphate in polygonal granules that interlock and reduce micromovement in the defect.

Barrier membrane

  • Native collagen membrane made from porcine pericardium. Very thin, yet with remarkable tear resistance – suitable for techniques involving fixation, e.g. the sausage technique.

  • Native collagen membrane made from porcine dermis, not artificially cross-linked. Natural pores allow rapid ingrowth of blood vessels.

  • Resorbable membrane of pure magnesium: mechanically strong like a metal membrane, but degraded by the body, so it does not need to be removed.

    Sizes and prices

    See all in NOVAmag® →
  • Single-layer collagen membrane of porcine collagen with elastin. Easy to stretch and suture, and hydrates in a few seconds.

  • Pre-shaped magnesium shield for flapless reconstruction of buccal and palatal wall defects in the extraction socket – also in immediate implant placement. Needs neither fixation nor removal.

    Sizes and prices

  • Membrane of high-density PTFE (dPTFE). Can be left exposed for open healing and removed without surgery, as tissue does not grow into it.

  • Non-resorbable PTFE membrane with a dense side facing the soft tissue and an expanded side facing the bone.

Soft tissue

  • Three-dimensional collagen matrix of porcine dermis for soft tissue augmentation – an alternative to autologous soft tissue grafts.
