Permamem® is an extremely thin, non-resorbable and biocompatible membrane. It is made of biologically inert high-density poly(tetrafluoroethylene) (PTFE), which acts as an effective barrier against bacterial and cellular penetration and can therefore be used for open healing in selected indications.
The membrane is also easy to remove, as there is no ingrowth of surrounding tissue. permamem® retains its structural properties both during initial implantation and throughout the healing period.

Clinical situations require
The desired barrier function largely depends on the indication. For minor augmentation procedures, membranes with an intermediate barrier function, such as the collprotect® membrane, are a good choice.
In the case of larger horizontal bone defects, long-acting collagen membranes, such as the Jason® membrane, optimally support the osseous regeneration process.
Space-maintaining membranes, such as PTFE membranes (e.g. permamem®), provide additional stability when building up defects outside the bony framework and also offer advantages when used in conjunction with open healing.

Cones & fleeces
