Gain insight into PRF's scientific background and clinical applications in dentistry, ophthalmology, wound healing, and regenerative treatment.

Join us for an inspiring afternoon course providing an introduction to the use of Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) in veterinary medicine. The program brings together experts in regenerative medicine, including Professor Marc Quirynen from KU Leuven, veterinary dentist Hanne Ellen Kortegaard, and veterinary ophthalmologist Tommy Hardon. Through a series of lectures and clinical cases, participants will gain insight into the scientific background of PRF and its applications in areas such as dental treatment, ophthalmology, wound healing, and regenerative therapy. The course is aimed at veterinarians who want a solid introduction to PRF and inspiration on how PRF can be implemented as a treatment in daily clinical practice.

The course is free of charge, but a fee will be applied for cancellations made less than 12 hours before the start of the course.

Prof. Marc Quirynen

Prof. Marc Quirynen

Professor of Periodontology, Catholic University of Leuven

Prof. Marc Quirynen, DDS, PhD, earned his dental degree in 1980 and his Certificate in Periodontology in 1984 from KU Leuven. He subsequently completed his PhD in 1986, investigating the anatomical and inflammatory mediators of bacterial plaque retention. Currently serving on the postgraduate Periodontology faculty at KU Leuven and as a Visiting Professor at Egas Moniz University, Prof. Quirynen is an internationally recognized pioneer in tissue regeneration. His research and clinical focus centers on the application of autologous platelet concentrates (APCs) in periodontal regeneration and implant dentistry. He authored the definitive text 'Leucocyte- and Platelet-Rich Fibrin (L-PRF) in Oral Regenerative Procedures' and guest-edited the landmark 'Periodontology 2000' monograph on APCs, synthesizing contemporary evidence alongside leading experts such as Dr. Richard Miron and Dr. Catherine Davies.
Hanne Ellen Kortegaard

Hanne Ellen Kortegaard

Veterinary dentist

Qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 1992 from the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University (now part of the University of Copenhagen). Earned her PhD in 2004 with a focus on periodontitis in dogs. Obtained the title of Diplomate of the EVDC (European Veterinary Dental College) in 2017. Has been employed at the University of Copenhagen at the University Hospital for Companion Animals since 1995 – and since 2017 exclusively at the dental clinic. Frequently assists zoos with odontological cases.
Tommy Hardon

Tommy Hardon

Veterinary ophthalmologist

Qualified as a veterinarian in 1991. Specialist veterinarian in diseases of dogs and cats, and holds a master's degree in veterinary ophthalmology. Areas of expertise: eye diseases, surgery and parasitic diseases. Tommy has been a certified eye panel veterinarian since 2008 and is approved by the Danish Veterinary Association and the ECVO to diagnose hereditary eye conditions in dogs and cats.
