Lumoral®
The protocol uses 70 Lumorinse® tablets
1. Before implant treatment
Once daily for 14 days
Lumoral® is used daily in the period leading up to implant treatment as an adjunct to the clinical treatment and the patient’s self-care.
2. After implant treatment
Once daily for 14 days
Lumoral® is continued daily after implant treatment as an adjunct to postoperative care and the patient’s oral hygiene.
3. Aftercare and maintenance
Twice weekly for 3 months
After the initial treatment period, Lumoral® is continued twice a week to support bacterial control between clinic visits.
Then:
Twice weekly, preventively
The patient starts with a Lumoral® starter pack containing 10 Lumorinse® tablets, with a further 60 Lumorinse® tablets added for the full 3-month course of treatment.
Total: 70 Lumorinse® tablets.
After the course, maintenance 2 x per week is recommended

40 patients with newly diagnosed peri-implant disease
The patients were randomized to either four weeks of home treatment with dual-light aPDT or improved oral self-care alone.
The results showed:
The study supports the potential of repeated home-based dual-light aPDT as a supplement to daily oral care in patients with peri-implant disease.
7 patients with peri-implant disease
The patients used Lumoral® daily for four weeks as a supplement to their normal oral hygiene.
After four weeks the following were observed:
The study indicates that repeated home-based dual-light aPDT can reduce clinical signs of inflammation around implants.
