Clinical situations require

materials with different properties

The barrier function required depends very much on the indication. For smaller augmentation procedures, membranes with an intermediate barrier function such as the collprotect® membrane are a good choice.

In larger horizontal bone defects, long-acting collagen membranes such as the Jason® membrane optimally support the osseous regeneration process.

Space-maintaining membranes, for example PTFE membranes (such as permamem®), give extra stability when augmenting defects beyond the bony envelope and also have advantages in open healing.

Cones & fleeces

botiss hemostasis portfolio

Porcine-derived collagen cones and sponges such as collacone® and collafleece® are designed to promote haemostasis and act as a scaffold for blood absorption and cell ingrowth. They thereby support clot formation and help control natural wound healing.

Covering the open wound can also prevent complications after tooth extraction, such as alveolitis (dry socket), bacterial infections and postoperative wound infections.

collacone®

collacone® is a moisture-stable, mouldable cone made from natural collagen, developed for use in fresh extraction sockets to support natural healing.

It stabilizes the blood clot, helps control bleeding and protects the wound area from food debris and bacteria.

collacone® resorbs completely within about 2–4 weeks.

collaFleece®

collafleece® is a moisture-stable collagen sponge of porcine origin with highly effective haemostatic properties. Its natural, porous collagen structure supports haemostasis and natural wound healing.

Thanks to its sponge-like structure, collafleece® resorbs within about 2–4 weeks.
